Remembering Teacher on Guru Rinpoche Day

Back to 2006, the first year we conceived of building the Stupa, my teacher Kundrol Mongyal Lhasey Rinpoche came to Thailand to attend the 1000 Stars conference on “Body and Mind” and to bless the land, which was to become the Stupa site. Two years later he was invited to Thailand again to perform a ritual for the Stupa called “sa long” land permission from sacred land owners. After the ceremony was over, we knew we have great karma to build this precious Stupa. That time Rinpoche and his son, tulku of Sang-ngag Lingpa also performed several practices related to Guru Rinpoche. Today on the occasion of Guru Rinpoche day, I think of my teacher’s kindness and one of his practical advice: “Never judge people from their outward personalities. But look into the purity of their mind. And make every moment your practice.”
