Pilgrimage Turn Into Earthquake Support

I planned to go to Yushu during my pilgrimage to Kham after attending the Guru Rinpoche festival in Aba. But the pilgrimage turned into a relief support for Kunga Sangbo Rinpoche’s family and other victims in Yushu. Here are some pictures from the earthquake site. I wished to be with them more but thought it would be better to help from home:

A girl at her collapsed house

Survivor camp atmosphere – this one is from Tashi Darthang village where I stayed

The disaster brought Tibetans from many regions together. Monks from various monasteries came to rescue.

Half collapsed houses

Another survivor

Wishing we could do more to help relieve our fellows’ suffering

Survivors’ new homes

How we cook

This one collapsed 4 days after the earthquake.

Damage that couldn’t be described

Receiving water

Exhausted rescue soldiers

Hope remains…
