Taking Refuge Prayer

Palden lama dampa namla jabsu chio

Dzogpe sangje jomdende namla jabsu chio

Dampe chonamla jabsu chio

Phakpe gendun namla jabsu chio

I take refuge in the precious masters.

I take refuge in the perfect Buddhas.

I take refuge in the precious Dharma.

I take refuge in the noble Sangha.

Kunga Sangbo Rinpoche asked us to recite these lines 100,000 times to increase our devotion in the Three Jewels. We can do this while meditating on Tara considering her as the center of our refuge. She is one and the same as our master and our Buddha. Her teaching is Buddha’s Dharma. Having attained the perfection of ten-level Bodhisattva, she is worthy of respect as the Sangha.
