Last Saturday (November 22) the Thousand Stars Foundation organized a talk panel and a premiere of the film “Bhutan: Taking the Middle Path to Happiness” at Chalerm Promas conference hall, Chulalongkorn Hospital.

Among the approximately one hundred participants were faculty and students of the Faculty of Medical Science, Chulalongkorn University; Bhutanese residents and students in Thailand; Thousand Stars friends and volunteers; friends of serindia Publications; expatiates; and monks from Dhammakaya Monastery.

The seminar was opened by the dean of the Faculty of Medical Science. It was presided by Dr. Thevi and Dr. Kanya of the Pediatric department, Faculty of the Medical Science, who co-organized the event.

The organizers would like to thank the following: John Wehrheim, one of the film’s producers for the lively discussion on Bhutan and allowing us to show the film to the audience in Thailand, Carol for joining the panel and making it lively with her optimism, and Jick for serving as moderator and translator.

John, a Hawaii resident who has been friends with Bhutan for over fifteen years. His film brought a great deal of inspiration, particularly to the Foundation with her Khadiravana Center project.

Carol (in yellow) is a writer of the sold-out book “Bhutan, Dream Valley”.

Jick serves Pandara’s board and is known for her admiration of Tibetan culture.

We are grateful to Phii O, Khun Duanden and her friends for their professional hands in organizing the fair, helping out with the exhibition, and arranging the Foundation’s registration tables. Duan and her friends missed a two-night sleep working on 100 copies of Tibetan sacred music CD (with a bonus CD on the Shanti Tara Maha Stupa) to help raise funds for the Foundation. We thank Miao, Nuch, Nut and Nat for their untireless efforts to help the Foundation. We are grateful to Bo, who sent us a boxful of Bhutanese incense. We also thank Jick and her friends for their excellent help with the Thai subtitle.
