Reincarnated Lama (1)

On November 17-21, 2008 Yontan and I went to Kathmandu to attend an enthronement ceremony of Tulku Ugyen Rinpoche at Ka-nying Sedrup Ling and to interview some Tibetan masters on the issue of reincarnation in Tibetan Buddhism and on a Nepalese boy who is believed by local devotees to be reincarnation of Buddha and has been meditating for 4 years without taking any food or drink.

We had a good fortune to attend the enthronement ceremony only on the first day (Nov 19). It was a great event with around 5000 people attending it with most of the foreign participants are from western countries. As things didn’t turn out the way we expected, I had very few photos to share in this blog. We are grateful to Phakchok Rinpoche and Khun Joel for helping the TV crew to film part of the ceremony, take photos of the little lama and ask questions about reincarnation.
