A lovely story on body-mind detox organized at Khadiravana Center in February over Maghapuja weekend was recently published in Woman&Home magazine, April 2009 issue.

“Cultivating Compassion”

in-sala2

In the evening of 8 March we celebrated the day before Maghapuja together by circumambulating the mantra stupa. We first prayed at Vasutara Sala. Then we took a walk while reciting the compassion mantra “Om Mani Peme Hung”.

We continued our walk to the site for the Shanti Tara Maha Stupa, placed our incense and made a wish there. It was a touching sight for me. Although I didn’t plan to take everyone up there due to the difficult path, they all wanted to join me.

“Bedtime”

We circled on the camping ground before retiring to bed. Mai’s guitar brought us back to another present moment of created mandala and storytelling. Yontan entertained us with his short tale of a naive village man. That night I felt a special bond among us. Although we were tired, we didn’t feel like leaving the mandala.

“Offering Mandala”

offering-mandala2We started the Maghapuja day by taking refuge in Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. We made a mandala offering together. We visualized the best of all in the universe and offered it as a cloud of offering to Buddha.
